Candle & Wick Care

Candle Care

  • Allow enough time for the wax to melt, completely to the edges of the container to prevent "tunneling".
  • Avoid burning for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time.
  • Trim wick to 1/4 inch before each use.
  • Do Not leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Place candle on a stable surface away form flammable objects before lighting.
  • Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

 Dessert Candle Care

  • Dessert Candles are Novelty Candles and require more maintenance than a regular candle. Especially if it's in a unique vessel.
  • Burn candle for the first 2 to 3 minutes. Blow out, let solidify, trim your wick. Relight.
  • Always place your candle on a plate to catch excess wax that may drip down along the outside.
  • Dessert candles should not burn longer than an hour at a time due to safety.
  • If a candle with whipped topping or high embeds burns down quickly a more frequent wick cut is required.
  • If the vessel gets hot, avoid lighting. This usually happens when there is little to no wax in the vessel.

Wood Wick Care

  • Best way to light a wooden wick is to tilt the candle on an angle and let the flame draw across the length of the wick.
  • Your first burn should last 60 plus minutes so the wax can melt evenly.
  • For optimal burn, keep your wood wick trimmed to about 1/8", and clean off any burnt wood from previous use.
  • Avoid burning your candle for more than 3 to 4 hours to preserve longevity of the scent in the candle.
  • Place candle on a stable, heat resistant surface away from flammable objects before lighting.
  • Use a Candle Dipper or Candle Snuffer to keep the wicks from moving away form the center and to avoid wax splatters.
